SAINT-GOBAIN SPONSORED BUILDING CONSTRUCTION WORKS TOWARDS THE SMART CITY
On November 24, 2016, Saint-Gobain Vietnam sponsored the workshop "Sustainable construction towards a smart city - Green Building Towards a Smart City" organized by the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham). at Novotel Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose of the workshop is to propose solutions in construction, contributing to sustainable urbanization in Ho Chi Minh City. The seminar attracted the participation of more than 70 guests including leaders of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Department of Construction, Department of Urban Planning and Architecture, Department of Natural Resources and Environment and many leaders of corporations and companies. The company is a partner of EuroCham.
At the seminar, Saint-Gobain introduced two sustainable solutions using Gyproc-Vinh Tuong gypsum wall. The first solution: replacing traditional fired brick wall 100mm with GypWall DW1 plasterboard , with soundproofing and fireproofing ability designed equivalent and superior, this is a recognized unburnt brick solution to replace the wall. Burnt clay bricks - a "dirty" material, burn 6 million tons of coal annually and destroy 3,000 hectares of agricultural land for production. According to a study by Andrew Norton, Renuables, UK, on every m 2 GypWall DW1 plaster walls used instead of 100mm brick walls will help reduce 79% of CO 2 emissions. , reducing 67% of energy use, reducing 87% of the weight of the wall system and reducing 81% of water usage. DW1 GypWall drywall systems can be used to replace the interior brick wall for multiple segments, from residential, apartment , office , hotel , to schools , hospitals .
The second solution: GypLiner wall system - use a combination of gypsum wall system on the inside surface of brick wall covering 110mm thick instead of brick wall covering 220mm thick traditional cover. GypLiner walling solution meets the technical thermal requirements for wall covering outside the building according to QCVN 09, while the 220mm brick wall does not meet the standards under this regulation (Uo max 1.8 w / m 2 . k). GypLiner walling solutions increase the insulation capacity for exterior shielding walls, thereby increasing the efficiency of energy use inside the building.
In recent years, Saint-Gobain has always accompanied the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces in disseminating the use of unburnt construction materials and sustainable solutions oriented by the Ministry of Construction. In 2015, Saint-Gobain Vietnam was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Ministry of Construction for its contribution to the sustainable development of Vietnam's construction materials industry.
